On October 8, 2012, Thyce Colyn was seriously injured when a car driven by a valet driver collided with Mr. Colyn while he was riding his bike. The court ruled that the parking service`s employer, Standard Parking, was fully liable, and a jury awarded Mr. Colyn more than $38 million.1 However, it can be difficult to prove that these companies are liable for damage to a car. While the person who was driving at the time of an accident is usually at fault, they only drive a vehicle for a very short period of time. If the attendant claims to have been injured by an owner`s car, it is also necessary to investigate what happened to the owner`s car while the person was in the store or hotel. In this case, there may have been a situation where one valet parked the car and another walked in front of or behind it and suffered a loss or injury. There may have been a situation where the servant drove the car too fast and hit another servant or a completely independent pedestrian on the scene. Or a valet service tried to park a car in an area too narrow for the car and scratched, damaged or otherwise damaged a second, third or fourth car while trying to get the car into the parking area.

If the damage was caused by someone other than the valet, it is unlikely that the company will be liable. If, on the other hand, the valet did something that directly caused the damage, the company may be liable. I was quite surprised at how much these cars were parked. They were literally packed like sardines in this corner parking lot on the ground floor. When I went to the hut in the park to get my keys, the servant said, „You`re waiting here, I`ll get your car.” I remember very well that he skillfully moved several cars on the property, and indeed, he came with my car. I remember stepping forward to greet him as he walked to the servant`s hut. In fact, this guy stopped the car, got out of the driver`s seat and yelled at me, „I told you to stay there, now you`re going back to where I told you to stand!” I was stunned.
They had strict rules that car owners were NOT allowed to walk around the property and be hit by their cars, and I had violated their rules by driving through the area to my car as it walked towards me. I apologized for my actions and gave him a big tip. But I learned a valuable lesson. In one minute, you hand over your keys to the servant. Then, pick up your car with an extra bump! In a city like Nashville or Bowling Green, where some venues have valet parking, accidents can happen.
