The Office of the General Counsel provides comprehensive legal services to the UW system, including advice on various legal matters such as human resources matters, student affairs, public records and public meetings, real estate, risk management and immigration, among others. The OGC also reviews and drafts policies; review, draft and negotiate contracts; represents UW institutions at administrative hearings; and liaises with the Wisconsin Department of Justice in litigation before the courts. A focus on proactive and preventive law is paramount, and OGC lawyers provide legal training to administrators and staff throughout the UW system. You will be taught through a combination of lectures, tutorials and workshops. Aaron G. Dumas joined the Office of the UW Legal Counsel in April 2022. Aaron was previously an attorney at Pines Bach LLP, representing clients in various civil litigation and other legal contexts, and frequently dealing with issues involving state and local government actors and policies. Prior to his legal career, Aaron worked in health IT project management and as a legislative assistant in the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Aaron received his B.A. in Government from Harvard University in 2003 and a J.D. Laude and M.P.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015. During law school, he worked as a trainee lawyer for the Office of the General Counsel. Sandra is the Academic Program Director, First Year and a Law Lecturer at the University of Western Sydney`s Faculty of Law. She has worked for over 15 years as a tutor, lecturer and unit coordinator in the law faculties of Western Sydney, Macquarie University and the University of Wollongong. From 2005 to 2007, she was a visiting scholar at Macquarie University. Since 2005, she has held the position of Real Estate Examining Examiner for the Law Profession Admission Council. While practising law, Sandy was a senior partner at Phillips Fox (now DLA Piper) and a consultant at McArdle Legal, a Sydney industrial relations law firm.

His main areas of interest are legal education, labour law, labour law, occupational health and safety law, and property and trusts. The BA (Hons) Business provides an excellent foundation of business and business skills, giving you a well-developed understanding of how to run and grow a business. She has also advised governments, NGOs and businesses on the implementation of Australia`s human rights and non-discrimination obligations. In addition, Jenni has previously been appointed as a Child Rights Expert (Australian Defence Force Cadets) and has worked on international capacity building, including working with the Gender Equality Commission (Johannesburg) on the conduct of litigation in the public interest. Jenni was also a consultant to the Stolen Children Investigation and the Sexual Harassment and Gender Discrimination Inquiry at the Australian Defence Force Academy. She has also been lead counsel in numerous litigation cases, including the Malaysian Solution High Court litigation on behalf of the AHRC as an intervener. Anna Cody is Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Western Sydney. Anna holds a PhD from the University of New South Wales, a Master of Laws from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts and Laws from the University of New South Wales. Previously, she was Associate Professor and Director of the Kingsford Legal Centre at the University of New South Wales. She has worked for over 20 years at the Centre, which is a leader in clinical training in Australian clinical law.

Anna is the recipient of the Human Rights Commission Law Award 2016 and the Community Lawyer Award 2007 from the Women Lawyers Association NSW. She has also won numerous teaching awards, including a 2010 Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning from the Australian Learning and Teaching Council. During its time at UNSW, the Centre won several awards, including the 2001 Australian Award for University Education, Law and Legal Studies and the UNSW Vice-Chancellor`s Award for Education. Anna is currently Chair of CLCsAustralia and a board member of Legal Aid NSW. From 2011 to 2013, Anna was President of CLCNSW and a member of the Board of Law Access. She was also Vice-Chair of the NSW Legal Assistance Forum. Her research focuses on legal education, particularly clinical legal education and human rights and discrimination law. She has written about the role of teaching reflective skills to students and how students can be encouraged to critique their role in the justice system. He has made numerous submissions to UN human rights committees when they have reviewed Australia`s compliance with its human rights obligations. Andrew graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2012 with a B.A. in Political Science and a Certificate in Business. After graduation, he worked as a clerk with Psychiatric Services, S.C. Tuition fees are calculated based on where you come from and what you are studying. Elen is Associate Dean and Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching (Law) of the Faculty of Law, as well as a member of the Tax Institute and Vice-Chair of the University`s Academic Integrity Working Group.

Prior to joining the UW system, Kristin was an associate general counsel at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where she handled student affairs, employment, research, and other higher education legal matters. She also served as in-house counsel for GE Healthcare, advising on commercial transactions, regulatory compliance and research issues. Kristin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota (2003) and a Juris Doctor from Marquette University School of Law (2008). Students in courses with a fieldwork element may also incur additional costs for travel and accommodation. All UK and EU undergraduate applicants who are not applying through an agent or partner must apply through UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service). Subjects of study during the first three years of BA law include criminal law, public law, legal system, Scottish law, company law, labour law and international human rights law.
